victor startup was born on September 25, 1925 in Maidstone kent. He was the oldest son of 2 children, He spent most of his childhood living in Barming kent England. As a child he used to tell us about how he played in the apple orchards near by, he said that his great, great, great, grandad used to own the land in that area. He told us how his great, great, great, grandad left some land to the romany's at North pole woods ,near Maidstone in kent. Dad served in the British Royal Navy in World War 2. And he told us how he sailed, towards france, with intentions of freeing, the french from occupation. He met our mum in 1951 and it wasen't long before they started our family. He was very proud to have served the country from wich he was born. In his mind it was his great country, Great Britain was the best country in the World. Dad used to say that he had traveled to various parts of the world during his service in Warld War 2 and for a while afterwatrds. And he used to say that Great Britain was the best.
